Purchasing Assistant
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support daily purchasing and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for ordering materials, maintaining vendor relationships, managing purchase orders, and supporting inventory and assembly needs. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Hours: Monday – Thursday 6am start time
Pay: $21/hour

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to support purchasing operations
- Research and evaluate vendors to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Create and manage purchase orders
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to order materials needed for shortages and stock
- Pull work orders for assembly as needed
- Assist with general warehouse duties as part of a team
- Track and manage inventory using purchasing and inventory databases
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of experience in purchasing, warehouse, receiving, inventory control, or a related role
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience working with purchasing and inventory databases
- Strong organizational and priority-setting skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Occasional standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands for handling tools and materials
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Noise level is typically loud and hearing protection may be required
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- All required OSHA safety training will be provided
