Tractor Operator with Brushhog
Job Description
Our client, a commercial landscaping company specializing in large-scale mowing and land maintenance, is seeking an experienced Tractor Operator to operate brushhog equipment on commercial and municipal properties.
This role involves working on large acreage, including roadside and uneven terrain, so candidates must be confident operating equipment safely and efficiently in varying conditions.
Pay: $18 – $22 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
The Tractor Operator will be responsible for operating a tractor with a brushhog attachment to maintain large properties, including areas with moderate slopes (up to approximately 20% grade). This is a field-based role requiring independence, strong equipment handling skills, and attention to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor with brushhog attachment for large-scale mowing
- Safely navigate and maintain properties with sloped and uneven terrain
- Perform mowing along roadsides and commercial land areas
- Conduct basic equipment checks and report maintenance needs
- Ensure work is completed efficiently and meets quality expectations
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Work independently on assigned properties with minimal supervision
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a tractor with brushhog (required)
- Experience working on graded or sloped terrain (not just flat ground)
- Ability to safely operate equipment on up to 20% grade
- Strong awareness of safety and surroundings, especially near roadways
- Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable transportation to assigned job sites

- No residential work – all commercial and municipal projects
- Employees report directly to assigned job sites each day
