TIG Welder

We are currently looking to fill a Day Shift TIG Welder position with a Catoosa based manufacturing company.

Pay: $23-$25/hr

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm; overtime as required

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for fitting and welding medical and food grade stainless steel equipment where dimensions, tolerances, welds, cosmetics, and over all craftsmanship will be held to a very high standard. 

• Selecting appropriate welding equipment, including TIG torch, power source, filler material, and shielding gas.
• Preparing the welding area, ensuring it is clean and free of contaminants.
• Choosing the correct welding parameters, such as current, voltage, and gas flow, based on the material and thickness being welded.
• Inspecting materials for defects, imperfections, and cleanliness before starting the welding process.
• Ensuring proper fit-up and alignment of components to be welded.
• Checking for weld defects such as porosity, cracks, and incomplete fusion.
• Grinding, polishing, or finishing welds to achieve the desired appearance and smoothness.
• Adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience in fitting and welding structural items. ( ex.. platforms, tubing, sheet metal, plate, pipe, enclosures)
• Must have at least 2 years of consistent TIG welding of stainless steel
• Must be proficient in MIG welding carbon steel and stainless steel
• Must be proficient in FCAW (fluxcore) welding carbon steel
• Must be able to fit up small and large assemblies with minimal supervision
• Must be able to lift up to 75lbs by hand
• High efficiency in reading blueprints
• Must be comfortable with measuring and fitting equipment like tape measures, carpenter squares, levels, band saws, grinders, etc.
