Structural Fitter/Welder
Job Description
Our client, a growing steel fabrication manufacturer in the Sapulpa area, is seeking an experienced Structural Fitter/Welder to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is skilled in both MIG and Flux Core (FCAW) welding and has experience fitting and assembling structural steel components.
The successful candidate will be able to read drawings, accurately fit components, and produce quality welds while working safely and efficiently in a fabrication environment.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM OR 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM
Pay: $20 – $22 per hour (DOE)

What You'll Be Doing
- Perform MIG and Flux Core welding on structural steel components
- Fit, align, and assemble steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Weld structural items such as beams, columns, frames, supports, and other fabricated assemblies
- Work from blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols
- Measure, layout, and prepare materials for fit-up and welding
- Verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet quality standards
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Requirements
- Experience with both MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) welding
- 2+ years previous experience fitting and welding structural steel
- Ability to pass a welding and fitting test
- Ability to perform welds in the 2G horizontal position
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols
- Proficient using measuring and layout tools including:
- Tape measures
- Combination squares
- Levels
- Angle finders
- Other fabrication measuring devices
- Strong understanding of structural fit-up and assembly processes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift, move, and position steel materials as required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of structural fitting and welding experience
- Experience in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Overhead crane and forklift experience
- Ability to read detailed fabrication prints and work from minimal supervision
