Job Description

We are currently looking to fill several welding positions with a company in the oil and gas industry.

As a (Fitter) Welder, you will be responsible for performing various types of welding operations, including flat, downhill, overhead, and multi-angle welding on assembly parts. This role requires a working knowledge of travelers and prints, as well as the ability to read measurements within 1/32 of an inch. The position demands a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform Spray Arc welds across various positions including flat, downhill, overhead, and multi-angle.
  • Execute structural welding operations, primarily aluminum welding.
  • Monitor and adjust heat, wire speed, cup angle, and travel speed for welding processes.
  • Operate pinwheel (turn table) equipment effectively.
  • Understand and interpret travelers and prints for precise assembly work.
  • Maintain workspace cleanliness and minor welding equipment maintenance.
  • Follow specific welding processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure high-quality welding output adhering to company quality standards.
  • Operate within strict safety requirements, including UV reflection precautions (use of auto or darker shade lens).
  • Manage throughput requirements while complying with all company and department policies.

Job Requirements

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of on-the-job welding experience with Mig and Spray Arc processes
  • Ability to operate a pinwheel
  • Ability to perform spray arc welding in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead) 
  • Ability to read measurements within 1/32 of an inch
  • Ability to lift, move, and manipulate materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods.
  • Adept at handling the physical demands of a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Sharp attention to detail to ensure precision in measurements and welding quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to focus on repetitive tasks while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
