Job Description
We are currently looking to fill a Shop / Service Technician position with a company in Oklahoma City, OK, specializing in office equipment solutions including copiers, printers, and scanners.
Pay: $18-$22/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Summary:
The Shop / Service Technician is responsible for preparing office equipment before delivery, ensuring all pre-programming, pre-install checks, and assembly are completed efficiently. This role works closely with the service and delivery teams to ensure the right equipment is ready at the right time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform set-up and pre-programming of new office equipment.
- Conduct pre-installation checks to ensure proper functionality.
- Recondition and sanitize used equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and resolve issues quickly.
- Manage workflow processes to maximize efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with purchasing, delivery, service, and sales teams.
- Maintain and complete all required paperwork accurately.
- Provide backup support for warehouse personnel when needed.
- Deliver parts or supplies to clients or technicians as necessary.
- Acquire necessary training certifications through self-paced or remote classes.
- Work independently using hand tools and testing equipment.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Two-year electronics degree or equivalent military/industry experience.
- Mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of equipment assembly.
- Basic knowledge of computer skills and network applications.
- Two years of customer service experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English.
Preferred Qualities:
- Innovative and able to develop new procedures to improve department efficiency.
- Personable and able to work well with others.
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
