Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to develop accurate cost assessments for complex industrial systems and equipment.
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for enclosed controls, packaged equipment systems (such as power distribution centers), and electrical motors. This role requires thorough knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to interpret project drawings and specifications. The Estimator collaborates with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, production, and procurement, to ensure all estimates meet project requirements and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial systems and equipment based on technical specifications and project requirements.
- Assess material, labor, and time requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing for components and services.
- Submit bid proposals within established deadlines and follow up as necessary.

Project Analysis:
- Review project plans and technical documents to define scope and identify potential challenges.
- Conduct risk assessments and suggest cost-saving alternatives.
- Recommend solutions to enhance project efficiency and align with budget goals.

Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with internal teams to align estimates with design, production, and customer expectations.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders throughout the bidding process.
- Adhere to internal processes for efficient coordination with relevant departments.

Process Improvement:
- Continuously refine estimation methods to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices through training and research.
- Implement lessons learned from previous projects to enhance future estimates.

Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and supporting data for reference.
- Generate detailed reports summarizing cost breakdowns and justifications.
- Provide regular updates on the status of bids and project opportunities.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating, preferably in the electrical controls, power distribution centers, or industrial equipment manufacturing sectors.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and power distribution equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
