Job Description

We are currently looking to fill a Senior Electrical Engineer position with a company located in Tulsa, OK.

Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years in electrical engineering
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology from an ABET-accredited institution

An established company is seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and execute electrical engineering projects and mentor junior engineers and designers. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in electrical power system design and analysis, as well as a hands-on approach to project management. The role may involve working independently or as part of a collaborative team, depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Manage and lead a team of junior engineers and designers, providing technical direction and mentorship.
  • Electrical Design & Analysis: Perform electrical power system design and analysis, including low-voltage power distribution, equipment specification, and grounding systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical components in each project.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Develop and oversee electrical construction drawings, ensuring designs meet National Electrical Code standards and client specifications.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25-30% for site visits, inspections, or project meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in industrial electrical engineering, with a background in one or more of the following sectors: Food & Beverage, Refinery, Steel, Specialty Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Mining & Aggregates, or Manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in low-voltage power distribution design, including motor control centers, lighting, branch circuits, and conduit/tray routing.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD or Inventor for drafting and design, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Licensure: FE exam completion and intent to pursue PE licensure is a plus.
  • Advanced Skills:
    • Knowledge of electrical design for hazardous locations.
    • Experience with low and medium-voltage VFD application and specification.
    • Medium-voltage industrial power distribution, including conceptual and detailed design.
    • Proficiency in electrical system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower).

Additional Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
