Safety Assistant
Job Description
Our client, a growing manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Assistant to support workplace safety initiatives, regulatory compliance efforts, and employee training programs.
This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for safety, enjoys working with people, and wants to play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe work environment. The successful candidate will work closely with operations and leadership teams to help ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the facility.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday | 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Pay: $23 – $25 per hour (DOE)
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist with the administration and coordination of the company's safety program
- Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential workplace hazards
- Support accident, incident, and near-miss investigations
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
- Assist with OSHA compliance efforts and regulatory reporting requirements
- Coordinate and track employee safety training and certifications
- Participate in safety meetings and help communicate safety initiatives to employees
- Conduct facility walkthroughs to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Assist with PPE distribution, tracking, and compliance
- Support workers' compensation and return-to-work documentation as needed
- Help develop and maintain safety procedures, policies, and training materials
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, safety, HR, or administrative support role
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices is a plus
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Safety-related coursework, certifications, or training
- Experience supporting OSHA compliance programs
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus
