Job Description

We are currently looking to fill a Purchasing Expeditor position with a company in Tulsa, OK specializing in protective packaging solutions.


As a Purchasing Expeditor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate procurement of materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and collaborating closely with vendors and internal stakeholders. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously will contribute to the smooth operation of our client's supply chain.
 
Hours: 8a-4:30p
Pay: $17-$19/hr DOE
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Purchase Order Management: Initiate and monitor purchase orders through the SAP system. Ensure accuracy in order details, specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines.
  • Expedite Deliveries: Utilize the SAP system to track open purchase orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries. Proactively address potential delays and bottlenecks to maintain production schedules.
  • Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with internal team to review inventory levels and forecasts. Make informed decisions regarding reorder points, quantities, and timing to optimize inventory management.
  • Supplier Communication: Foster strong working relationships with suppliers through effective communication. Communicate delivery expectations, resolve discrepancies, and handle urgent issues to ensure timely supply.
  • System Documentation: Enter, update, and maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and other relevant information within the SAP system.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various departments, including production, warehouse, and accounts payable, to align purchasing activities with organizational needs.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address any issues related to pricing, quantities, or quality discrepancies. Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to swiftly resolve challenges.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles. 
  • Demonstrated experience navigating and utilizing SAP or comparable procurement systems. Familiarity with creating and managing purchase orders within the system.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective supplier interaction and internal collaboration.
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and propose solutions to maintain a seamless supply chain.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
