Job Description

We are currently looking to fill a Mechanical Systems Engineer position with a Tulsa based manufacturing facility.

The Mechanical System Engineer is responsible for utilizing CAD software, specifically AutoCAD Inventor, to create detailed product drawings, 3D models, blueprints, and Bills of Materials (BOM) to support manufacturing processes. This role involves managing product data through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system from initial design to production, ensuring the efficient integration of new designs into the manufacturing workflow. 

The Engineer will also play a key role in integrating engineering systems into the company’s ERP system (Oracle NetSuite), working closely with other departments to ensure smooth data flow and functionality. In addition, the engineer will lead automation initiatives aimed at improving productivity in both engineering and manufacturing processes by reducing manual effort. The role requires developing, maintaining, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient operations across the department. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and develop detailed product models, drawings, and blueprints using AutoCAD Inventor. 
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) to support manufacturing processes. 
  • Develop and update product specifications to ensure clarity and accuracy for production teams. 
  • Manage product data through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system from design to production. 
  • Ensure smooth integration of new designs and products into the manufacturing process. 
  • Collaborate with product development teams to enhance lifecycle management and improve product data workflows. 
  • Integrate engineering systems into the company’s ERP system (Oracle NetSuite), ensuring efficient data flow and functionality across departments. 
  • Develop custom scripts and applications to automate engineering and manufacturing processes, reducing manual effort and improving productivity. 
  • Lead automation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency in both engineering and manufacturing. 
  • Prepare, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for engineering and manufacturing processes to ensure consistent execution. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to improve ERP performance and overall system functionality. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education. 
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience using CAD software (AutoCAD Inventor or similar) for designing and modeling products,  
  • 3-5 years of software development experience, including proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages,  
  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, and a variety of project management methodologies (Traditional, Agile, Hybrid).  
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Quality, and Continuous Improvement principles 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment. 
Physical and Mental Requirements: 

This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer and the ability to lift and carry light equipment up to 25 lbs. Visual acuity is required to work with detailed technical drawings and CAD models. The ability to manage complex problems, handle multiple tasks and priorities, and maintain focus on project objectives is also essential.
