Job Description

We are currently looking to fill a contract-to-hire Mechanical Engineer position with a Tulsa company.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides direction for mechanical designers and drafters. Responsibilities include designing and custom-building robotics for the energy industry, including rebar plants, mining projects, and offshore and onshore projects worldwide. The Senior Mechanical Engineer uses Computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment and provides technical drafting support in creating mechanical design documents for engineering and manufacturing.

Hours: Monday-Friday day shift (some flexibility on start time)

Pay: $85,000-$98,000

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs electrical equipment and systems for the manufacturing department.
  • Provides documentation for manufacture, automation & repair of machines and components via Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and/or Work Orders (W/O)
  • Directs manufacturing in proper assembly or repair of equipment.
  • Work on doing research on best tools to place orders involving special tools, machine components and supplies.
  • Assists manufacturing, assembly, electrical and warehouse with material specifications and purchasing.
  • Orders components for prototypes trials and testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test and adjust mechanical devices produced or purchased.
  • Coordinates and consults with other staff to design, layout and detail components.
  • Resolves system design issues with manufacturing, electrical and assembly.
  • Model parts and build assemblies in SolidWorks
  • Creates drawings from SolidWorks models and assemblies.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed equipment or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
  • Able to travel to on-site locations to offer technical assistance when required.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university; and 7+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master or PHD Degree is a plus.
    Must have experience in mechanical and machine design.
  • Proven ability with SolidWorks.
  • AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience designing moving parts.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory skills.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis is a plus
  • The ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Knowledge of drafting (ASME Y14.5) techniques.
