Inventory Control Manager
Job Description
Our client, a manufacturing company in the Tulsa area, is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager to oversee inventory operations and support production efficiency. This role is responsible for ensuring materials, components, and finished goods are accurately tracked, properly stored, and readily available to meet production and customer demands.
This is a hands-on leadership role managing inventory processes while supervising a small team within shipping and receiving.
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 annually (DOE)
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Director of Operations
Position Overview
The Inventory Control Manager plays a critical role in maintaining operational flow, improving inventory accuracy, and supporting on-time delivery. This position requires a strong understanding of ERP systems, inventory control processes, and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies
- Oversee receiving, stocking, material movement, and warehouse organization
- Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded within the ERP system
- Develop and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize loss, damage, and obsolescence
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Implement best practices for material handling, storage, labeling, and traceability
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and engineering teams to improve material flow
- Support lean initiatives to improve inventory turns and reduce costs
- Supervise and lead shipping and receiving staff, providing coaching and performance feedback
- Establish clear expectations for accuracy, safety, and productivity
- Work cross-functionally with purchasing, production, quality, and finance teams
- Assist with month-end and year-end inventory reporting
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or materials management
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (heavy equipment, fabrication, or industrial)
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments
