Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing team specializing in multi-axis robotic positioning systems. 

This role offers the opportunity to fully design complex mechanical systems from concept through installation, often integrated with six-axis industrial robots. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on engineering, takes ownership of projects, and thrives in an environment where designs evolve and innovation is encouraged.

This is a highly collaborative role with strong internal technical support, including access to experienced engineers and a licensed Professional Engineer. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with customers are essential.

  • Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
  • Design multi-axis mechanical positioning equipment for robotic automation systems

  • Develop complete SolidWorks models, assemblies, drawings, and supporting documentation

  • Apply practical knowledge of structural analysis, welding, machining, and mechanical assembly

  • Manage engineering projects from concept through completion, including installation oversight when required

  • Collaborate with internal engineering, manufacturing, and assembly teams

  • Communicate effectively with customers to support design requirements and implementation

  • Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing designs

  • Support integration of mechanical systems with industrial robots

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on SolidWorks experience (modeling, analysis, and drawing creation)

  • Strong practical understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing processes

  • Experience with structural analysis and mechanical system design

  • Proven ability to self-manage projects and drive them to completion

  • Strong communication skills and customer-facing professionalism

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Robotic cell design and system integration experience

  • PLC programming familiarity

  • Electrical design knowledge

  • Windows-based programming experience
