Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Job Description
Responsibilities:

Perform layout and dimensional checks on small parts.

Conduct fit-up checks before welding and inspect final welds/repairs.

Maintain accurate testing documentation and inspection reports.
-
Recommend improvements to product quality, design, or processes.
-
Participate in vendor evaluations and investigate quality issues.

Stay current with applicable welding codes and inspection practices.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
-
High School diploma or GED.
-
Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificate and valid visual acuity exam.

Preferred: CWI certification to AWS D1.1 welding code.

2–5 years of inspection experience OR 5–10 years of fit/weld experience with a new CWI certification.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
-
Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts. PPE required (ear protection, steel toe boots, safety glasses).

Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
