Heavy Equipment Operator

We are currently looking to fill a Heavy Equipment Operator position with a landfill in Sand Springs, OK.

Hours: Monday-Friday 6:45am-5pm and Saturday 7:00am-3:00pm.

Pay: $19+ DOE

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, compactors, and loaders, in a landfill environment.
• Safely and efficiently manage the movement and placement of solid waste materials.
• Monitor landfill operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Collaborate with landfill staff to optimize waste disposal procedures and landfill operations.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance logs.
• Adhere to strict safety guidelines and protocols to mitigate potential hazards and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, preferably in a landfill or waste management setting.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proficient in operating various heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, compactors, and loaders.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and safety practices related to landfill operations.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, drawings, and technical manuals.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Physical stamina and the ability to withstand exposure to various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
