Field Service Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
Hours: 8a-5p
Pay: $25-$30/hr+ DOE
As a Field Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of agricultural equipment, including gas and diesel engines, as well as hydraulic systems. This role requires working in the field, traveling to customer locations using a company-provided truck. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, possess their own tools, and be ready to tackle a wide range of repair tasks.

Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other components on agricultural and heavy equipment.

Perform field service and maintenance at customer locations using a company-provided truck.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and accurately.

Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to identify potential problems early.

Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain repairs, timelines, and recommendations.

Maintain organized service records, parts usage, and work orders.

Adhere to all company and industry safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.

Represent the company with professionalism and integrity in every customer interaction.
Job Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a field or shop mechanic working with agricultural equipment, diesel engines, and heavy machinery

Strong understanding of gas and diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical diagnostics

Must supply and maintain personal tools necessary for field repair and maintenance work; specialized diagnostic equipment will be provided

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; CDL preferred but not required

Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams

Skilled in using diagnostic software and hand/power tools safely and effectively

Strong troubleshooting ability with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing practical, long-term solutions

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently in the field
