Job Description

We are hiring a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician / Mechanic to join our client’s team, a leading provider of agricultural equipment and service solutions. This position plays a critical role in supporting customers by diagnosing and repairing equipment directly in the field, keeping operations running smoothly and minimizing downtime.

8a-5p
Pay: $25-$30/hr+ DOE

Position Overview:
As a Field Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of agricultural equipment, including gas and diesel engines, as well as hydraulic systems. This role requires working in the field, traveling to customer locations using a company-provided truck. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, possess their own tools, and be ready to tackle a wide range of repair tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other components on agricultural and heavy equipment.

  • Perform field service and maintenance at customer locations using a company-provided truck.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and accurately.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to identify potential problems early.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain repairs, timelines, and recommendations.

  • Maintain organized service records, parts usage, and work orders.

  • Adhere to all company and industry safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Represent the company with professionalism and integrity in every customer interaction.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a field or shop mechanic working with agricultural equipment, diesel engines, and heavy machinery

  • Strong understanding of gas and diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical diagnostics

  • Must supply and maintain personal tools necessary for field repair and maintenance work; specialized diagnostic equipment will be provided

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; CDL preferred but not required

  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams

  • Skilled in using diagnostic software and hand/power tools safely and effectively

  • Strong troubleshooting ability with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing practical, long-term solutions

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently in the field

  • Professional communication skills and a customer-first mindset to ensure clients receive clear updates and quality service

  • Commitment to following all company and OSHA safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work environment

  • Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a desire to represent the company with integrity and pride
