Equipment Rental Sales Representative
Job Description
Our client is seeking an Equipment Rental Sales Representative to focus primarily on driving rental revenue through inside sales and customer relationships. This position is responsible for generating new business, preparing and sending quotes, and assisting customers in selecting the appropriate equipment for their projects. In addition to sales duties, this role will support branch operations and leadership as needed, working closely with the Branch Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and a high level of customer service.
Hours: Monday – Friday, day shift
Pay: Hourly + 1% commission on any rental revenue brought in
Hourly pay between $25-$30/hr depending on experience. With expected overtime and commission, candidates should expect to make an estimated $70,000-$90,000 annually, but is performance based and not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and send rental quotes to customers

Add and manage customer accounts within the point-of-sale (POS) system

Recommend appropriate equipment based on customer project needs

Build and maintain customer relationships through phone and in-person interactions

Support branch leadership with daily operational needs and workflow coordination

Coordinate equipment reservations and availability

Provide equipment walk-throughs and operational familiarization to customers

Make outbound calls and jobsite visits to develop new business

Promote rental programs and encourage additional equipment rentals

Follow up on sales leads and open quotes

Assist with scheduling deliveries and pickups as needed

Help resolve customer issues and complaints professionally

Maintain accurate sales and customer records

Participate in safety, sales, and store meetings

Maintain a professional image and represent the company positively

Help reinforce company policies, safety standards, and service expectations

Step in to assist with leadership responsibilities when the Branch Manager is unavailable

Qualifications

Experience in equipment rental, construction equipment sales, or a related industry

Strong working knowledge of construction equipment and industry terminology

Prior sales or customer service experience

Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Ability to operate construction equipment and explain safe operation to customers

Strong computer skills, including POS systems and sales tracking

Professional communication and relationship-building skills

Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

Reliable work history with strong attendance

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced branch environment

Valid driver’s license required
