Class A CDL Driver
Job Description
Our client in the Claremore, OK area is looking to add Class A CDL Drivers to their team. This role is ideal for a driver who enjoys staying active, working outdoors, and being involved in more than just driving.
This is a hands-on position hauling sod and supporting project sites. Drivers are home daily and play an important role in both transportation and on-site operations.
Schedule & Work Environment
Drivers report each morning to the Claremore yard, typically starting around 6:30 AM. End times vary depending on project location, workload, and number of loads for the day. Some days may wrap up around 4:00 PM, while others may extend to 9:00 PM.
This role requires flexibility, as schedules can change based on business needs and project demands. Occasional overnight travel may be required for out-of-town projects, primarily related to site support such as watering sod.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class A manual transmission trucks with flatbed trailers
- Haul sod from harvesting locations to project sites
- Strap and unstrap loads to ensure safe transport
- Navigate job sites, including off-road and uneven terrain
- Assist with or learn to load trucks using a front-end loader
- Support job sites by assisting with watering sod as needed
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain compliance with DOT regulations
- Work independently while maintaining communication with the team
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with at least 3 years of verifiable driving experience and flatbed experience
- Must be proficient in manual transmission (no automatic trucks available)
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Clean MVR and registered with Clearinghouse
- Ability to perform physical tasks including strapping/unstrapping loads and working outdoors
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures
- Must be at least 21 years of age
