Job Description
We are currently seeking to fill a Director of Manufacturing position with a company located in Tulsa, OK.
Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years in industrial management
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA required
The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing and driving all manufacturing operations to ensure optimal performance in productivity, quality, safety, and cost management. This role involves strategic planning, operational execution, leadership of the manufacturing team, and collaboration across departments to meet and exceed company objectives. The Director of Manufacturing plays a pivotal role in aligning manufacturing processes with organizational goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Development: Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of manufacturing staff. Organize departmental structure to support efficiency and align with company goals.
- Operational Oversight: Manage production processes to ensure performance, quality, and safety standards. Coordinate schedules, oversee assignments, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and achieve long-term operational goals, develop budgets, and support technology upgrades.
- Performance Monitoring: Review and analyze production reports to confirm alignment with safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals. Provide timely performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff terminations in line with company policy.
- Reporting & Communication: Deliver regular updates on production metrics and division performance to the executive team. Partner with financial leadership to develop and manage the operating budget.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field;
- Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or MS in a relevant discipline) is preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing complex manufacturing operations, preferably in engineered-to-order or custom product environments.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and achieving measurable results.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in manufacturing planning and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and capital investment planning.
- Strong command of Office365 suite products.
