Job Description
We are currently looking to fill a Director of Engineering position with a company in Tulsa, OK.
Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years in engineering management
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; MBA or Master’s in Engineering preferred
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead and optimize the product engineering operations. This role is integral to advancing engineering excellence, overseeing the development lifecycle, and ensuring alignment with long-term organizational goals. The Director will play a key role in product innovation, project management, and team leadership.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 annually, DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and guide engineering staff, coordinating projects, conducting performance evaluations, and recruiting new talent as necessary. Provide ongoing training and mentorship to promote growth and skill development.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Manufacturing to set and achieve long-term operational and manufacturing goals.
- Product Development: Lead new product development from initial concept through to testing and production, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Market and Project Analysis: Collaborate with marketing to assess market potential for new products and ensure all engineering projects are on schedule, within budget, and meeting company objectives.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field);
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing engineering teams in a high-pace manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), lean principles, and product lifecycle management.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge in industrial electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, particularly related to power distribution systems.
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management tools.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and with customers.
