Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Contract Structural Fitter Welder for a short-term assignment lasting approximately 3–4 months. This role is ideal for a motivated tradesperson with strong welding and fabrication experience, particularly with carbon steel. Candidates must be able to fit directly from technical drawings and produce high-quality, accurate work.
Assignment Duration: 90–120 Days
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $25 – $30/hour (Based on Experience)
Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate and fit structural components.

Perform MIG and FCAW welding on carbon steel (experience with aluminum and stainless steel is a plus).

Set up and operate welding equipment and hand tools to ensure high-quality welds.

Use measuring and testing equipment to verify fabrication accuracy and alignment.

Collaborate with engineering and design personnel to improve fabrication efficiency and accuracy.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures.

Take ownership of weld quality and accuracy of finished components.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Welding certification from an accredited institution.

Demonstrated experience as a Structural Fitter Welder with a proven work history.

Proficiency in MIG and FCAW welding techniques.

Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and perform customized fabrication.

Familiarity with CNC machines and standard shop fabrication processes.

Skilled in using measuring and testing instruments.

Strong problem-solving ability and a self-motivated work ethic.

Effective communication skills—both verbal and written.

Ability to manage workload efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.

Must be able to follow safety rules and operational procedures consistently.
