Job Description
We have a client in the Tulsa area seeking an Assistant Manager for their local equipment rental company!
Schedule: 7:30a - 5:30p - (1-2) Saturdays expected with (5) days worked each week. Assistant managers typically work (45 - 50) hours per week and usually take a (1) hour lunch; occasionally only (30) minutes depending on store coverage.
Pay: $22 - $25/hr + Commission (Annual expectation projected at $55K - $65K)

Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage Deliveries and Pickups: Coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups to ensure timely and accurate service for customers.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of the main building, keeping the facility clean, safe, and ready for business. Conduct routine checks and handle minor maintenance tasks.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with reservations, handling inquiries, and working the counter when needed. Resolve customer issues efficiently and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Operations Support: Assist with open and close duties, support the operations manager, and step in for other employees when necessary to keep operations running smoothly.
- Safety Procedures and Training: Knowledgeable in the use of chains, binders, tie-down straps, trailer ball couplers, and truck/trailer classifications. Train staff on safety procedures and ensure compliance to keep customers, employees, and equipment safe.
- Reservation Management: Regularly review the reservation list, communicate with the yard manager to prepare equipment, and address overbooked reservations.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform monthly fire extinguisher checks, collect leads for the sales team, and maintain professional business communication via email and other channels.
- Employee Relations and Discipline: Foster a positive work environment by treating employees with respect, addressing issues professionally, and setting a good example in terms of punctuality and appearance. Assist with employee disciplinary actions as needed.
- Emergency Preparedness: Have a basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and safety protocols throughout the branch, ensuring proper lockdown and security measures.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- (3-5) years of rental/equipment sales management experience
- Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Must possess sales, customer, employee relation skills.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create a friendly atmosphere and understand customer needs
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills, email communication, and professional writing.
- Understanding of facility maintenance, safety, and emergency procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and safely move a minimum 50 pounds unassisted.
- Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Workdays require periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
