CAT Certified Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic

We are currently looking to fill a Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic position with a company in Sand Springs, OK.

We’re looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic with 2-5 years of experience. Expertise with CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, and Bomag equipment is essential. A mechanic’s truck will be provided, though personal tools are required.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday Hours: 6:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (work may be required based on repair demand)

**Must be CAT certified for consideration**

Pay: $25-$45/hr DOE

Duties:

• Diagnose and Repair: Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment such as CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, and Bomag machinery.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, tune-ups, and inspections to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.
• Equipment Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of machinery to detect wear, damage, or malfunctions, advising on repair or replacement needs.
• Engine and Transmission Overhauls: Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild engines, transmissions, and other critical components as needed.
• Hydraulic Systems Maintenance: Inspect and repair hydraulic components, replacing hoses, fittings, and pumps as necessary.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, documenting issues, parts used, and completed work.
• Customer and Team Communication: Work closely with operators and other team members to understand equipment issues and provide clear updates on repair status and any safety concerns.
• Field Service Capability: Perform on-site repairs and maintenance as required, using the provided mechanic’s truck, while following all safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience with heavy diesel equipment, particularly with CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, and Bomag machines.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical assemblies related to heavy equipment.
• Tools: Ability to provide and maintain your own set of professional tools.
• Certifications: **Must be CAT certified for consideration** ASE or equivalent diesel mechanic certifications are a plus but not required.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift heavy parts and equipment, work in various weather conditions, and handle the physical demands of the job, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• License: Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or ability to obtain one if necessary.
