Sheet Metal Journeyman
Job Description
Pay: Up to $40/hour
Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality TIG welding, with MIG welding as a secondary skill.

Operate shop equipment including press brakes, metal shears, and metal rolls safely and efficiently.

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to produce precise sheet metal components.

Layout, measure, and mark sheet metal for cutting, bending, and forming operations.

Fabricate complex sheet metal parts, assemblies, and structures from flat stock to finished product.

Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure work meets specifications and tolerances.

Maintain and calibrate equipment, hand tools, and measuring instruments to ensure accurate results.

Collaborate with engineers, designers, and team members to solve fabrication challenges.

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Multiple years of hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience in a professional shop environment.

Expert TIG welding skills; MIG welding experience preferred.

Proficient in operating press brakes, metal shears, and metal rolls.

Strong layout and measuring skills, with the ability to accurately interpret blueprints and drawings.

Familiarity with different metals and material properties.

Knowledge of welding symbols, tolerances, and industry fabrication standards.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot fabrication challenges.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
